At CDM we provide a wide range of services for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Here is an overview of the range of services we can provide:
At Country Diesel Maintenance we offer different levels of servicing depending on what your vehicle requires. Although we have developed our own service program to better suit your needs, we still adhere to the manufacturer guidelines for the minimum service requirement.
The vehicle manufacturers have done a huge amount of research to develop their service schedules. As a result they have come up with individual guidelines for service schedules, which are considered to be the minimum service requirement for the applications the vehicle will be subjected to in its average use.
These schedules can vary widely between different vehicles and manufacturers. Depending on a vehicles actual use, the service schedule may need to be altered to better suit the vehicles application. While we don't usually recommend that you do any less servicing than the manufacturer recommends, (altering to reduce the O.E.M. service schedule may affect or void your O.E.M. warranty), some owners do not have the amount of vehicle use or the budget to maintain the recommended schedule, in this case the schedule may need to be altered to suit the owners needs.
We do not offer fixed price servicing. All of our services are done on an hourly rate basis.
Personal contact with you, the owner, is essential for us to ascertain what level of servicing your vehicle actually needs to be kept safe and reliable.
From our experience, seeing what happens to vehicles that are subjected to the harsh Central Australian conditions, the service schedule often needs to be increased to keep your vehicle safe and reliable. Most manufacturers list a number of extreme conditions in their service book that require additional servicing to be done if even one of these conditions is met. In central Australia we can meet up to 6 of these conditions in the course of a year.
This is evident from constantly seeing vehicles arrive in need of repairs having only travelled a few 100 or even a 1000 kilometres since the last service. For example, brake pads and discs that would normally last 60-80 thousand kilometres, wear out in as little as 2000 kilometres after rainfall, we also see air filters and fuel filters block in as little as a few 100 kilometres. Under different circumstances these would last many 1000's of kilometres.
These vehicles clearly would not maintain reliability if serviced as per the manufacturers guidelines alone. At CDM you can rely on our years of experience maintaining vehicles being exposed to these harsh conditions.
We have developed a service system that is more thorough than your average garage service. It can be customised to your actual needs and altered if these change. Our business has a vast amount of experience keeping vehicles safe and reliable. We prefer to discuss with you your individual needs, so that you can choose the type of servicing your vehicle receives.
Here are some of the services we offer:
Our premier service the "90-Point Service", is recommended for vehicles that are working out bush or need to be maintained for long distance traveling and towing. This service was developed in Alice Springs by CDM and is far more thorough than any logbook service you will have had before. This service is performed with an attitude that we have cultured in-house and carries its own reputation Australia wide.
Our secondary service, the "Basic Service" is a 45- point check that is usually done on vehicles that already have a good service history and are not subjected to arduous conditions. It is a cost-effective service that covers the basic requirements and safety checks. This is still a quality service, but it is not as detailed as the 90-Point Service. Some of our clients choose to alternate the basic with the 90-Point Service depending on the vehicles use. For any further queries on this service please contact one of our staff through the contacts menu.
We also offer customised servicing for specific applications. Some customers or machines have specific individual service requirements and may also have their own specific service checklists. We can perform these services solely or we can attach them to our own service system. For any further queries on this service, please contact one of our staff through the contacts menu.
All other work performed is considered as repairs and is undertaken as separate work to the service programs. Repairs are extremely wide ranging and can vary dramatically in their nature and complexity. We offer a range of repairs from small whipper snipper repairs to large scale diesel engine rebuilding, along with everything in between. All repairs are done on an hourly rate basis. Our photo gallery has images of repairs being undertaken. For any further queries on this service please contact one of our staff through the contacts menu.
We offer complete machinery restoration. Often vehicles or machinery have been run down to the point where it is in need of a complete overhaul. Managing this type of task can be time-consuming and often difficult for someone who does not have the experience.
We have undertaken major machine restorations on many different and varied types of machinery, such as tractors, bulldozers, cranes, airport tugs, trucks, 4WD's, cars, industrial dough mixing machines, stationary engines, dragline, earthmoving, Genset's, Hammermill and trailers. We can do full or part restorations depending on what our customers desire. See our photo gallery to view some of our machine restorations. Please contact us if you have any queries related to restorations.
CDM has spent several years performing a large amount of remote bush work, both on worksites and in remote workshops. We are qualified to undertake remote area repairs and servicing on request. In the past we have established fleet maintenance programs in very remote areas, on small to medium fleets of commercial vehicles and earthmoving machinery. We also endeavour to maintain the same consistency of maintenance standards off-site as we offer through our town. As remote area work does not come without its difficulties, it needs to be a reasonable amount of work to make it cost-effective. In our photo gallery we have images of remote area works to provide examples of repairs. Please ask about our remote area contracts.
At CDM we provide all the servicing and repairs associated with the maintenance of your vehicles and machines, either in-house or through sublet services. If you require additional services on top of regular maintenance, we can provide these if the need arises. Our team can organise these for you and as an added convenience, pick up and drop off the vehicles as required.
